The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Tuesday informed that 10 Indian-flagged vessels were still in the Persian Gulf region.
Addressing his weekly media briefing here, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, “As of today, we have 10 Indian-flagged vessels still in the Persian Gulf region. In addition to these 10, we have two Indian ships that have crossed from this side into the Persian Gulf, meaning traffic is going back and forth.”

He further informed that 11 India-bound ships have crossed the Strait of Hormuz following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the US and Iran to halt hostilities.
“Since the signing of the MoU on 17th June, 11 India-bound vessels have transited through the Strait of Hormuz. The vessels include three Indian-flagged crude oil tankers, each carrying 285,000 metric tons of crude oil, one foreign flag LPG carrier, one foreign flag crude oil tanker, and six foreign flag bulk carriers carrying fertilizer,” Jaiswal said.
The MEA spokesperson hoped that the remaining Indian-flagged vessels would also be able to cross the Strait of Hormuz soon.
